SRAM sponsors Pablove Across America Ride

SRAM will sponsor the upcoming Pablove Across America Ride with complete componentry for the ride leaders Felt (donated) bikes. The SRAM components include four full RED gruppos, two Zipp 404 PowerTap equipped wheelsets, and Zipp bars and stems.

SRAM will also provide a sag car with one the four 2009 Volvo XC-70 SRAM Neutral Support vehicles following the month-long1,000+ mile ride providing full technical support.

The Pablove Ride begins October 10, when Dangerbird Records co-founder Jeff Castelaz, along with his friend and coach Rick Babington, will embark on a 30-day bike fundraising ride across the entire United States, with the sole mission to improve the treatment experience for children with cancer. Castelaz’s goal is to raise $1 million in funds and to increase awareness of pediatric cancer.

SRAM is also encouraging several of their top sponsored athletes to join portions of the ride, including seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong and Ironman runner-up Desiree Ficker.

The Pablove Foundation is named after Pablo Castelaz, who was diagnosed on May 17, 2008, with bilateral Wilms’ Tumor, a rare form of children’s cancer. On June 27, 2009, Pablo’s individual fight with cancer ended. The father and his family and friends fight on in Pablo’s name, with the spirit of love that Pablo embodied and inspired.

Every year, the Pablove Foundation gives money to improve the lives of children with cancer, the message is worded clearly: Kids get cancer too and it’s not somebody else’s problem.

SRAM encourages your support of The Pablove Foundation, which help kids with cancer. http://www.pablove.org/
