Truvativ Technology - Engineering the Shift
The strength of our AL-7050-TV aluminum is second to none. This is exactly why we use it to create our pro-level parts. It is an important factor in the creation of the Holzfeller line-up, the benchmark for gravity component. In its raw state AL-7050-TV is impressive but through our extrusion, forging and heat treatment processes we create the highest quality AL-7050-TV Aluminum parts. AL-7050-TV is 75% stronger than commonly used 6061 aluminum. Used in our Holzfeller OCT crankset it creates double the pedal thread strength and double the BB interface strength of 6061-T6 cranks. The incredibly strong AL-7050-TV is found in Holzfeller OCT, Holzfeller, Omnium, Rouleur, and Stylo components. If the goal is to use aluminum with characteristics of robust strength and stiffness then AL-7050-TV is the ideal choice.
To fabricate our Open Core Technology a single mass of premium alloy is pushed, pulled and squeezed into a hollow crank arm. During our exclusive process the magic happens, producing supreme strength while remaining weight-conscious. We may have not been the first to fabricate hollow crank arms, but we are the best by yielding the highest stiffness-to-weight ratio out there. Our OCT cranks are stiffer, stronger, and lightweight beyond any solid forged crankset and when we use our AL-7050-TV to fabricate with OCT the results are impressive.
The Howitzer Bottom Bracket System provides a bombproof Bottom Bracket for the extremes of Freeride and DH applications. The Howitzer BB features oversized cartridge bearings to produce a super durable external BB system. We built this system from the ground up and it is built for abuse, and yes, it can take it over and over. Another benefit to our design is agility. Time to switch your bike, but love your cranks? No problem, just purchase another properly sized Howitzer BB for the new ride and remount your cranks. Howitzer is a purpose-built system featuring CNC machined AL-6061 cups, chromoly spindle and extreme strength through design.
While other systems rely on side loading the bearings to eliminate play, which causes premature bearing wear, the GXP system is different. The GXP system captures the left side bearing between the spindle and the left crankarm while allowing the drive-side bearing to float axially on the spindle, thereby eliminating the necessity to side-load bearings during adjustment. The simplicity of installation is refined: once it is tightened to the proper specifications you are ready to roll with a worry free BB. The GXP system uses two bicycle specific cartridge bearings and eight seals for a smooth and long lasting ride.
Starting out with raw 7075-T6 Alloy plate, we stamp, coin, and CNC the rings to create a precise shifting whole. Coining shapes our tooth profiles and offers designs that CNC can never match, while creating a stronger tooth by strain-hardening the alloy for superior durability. Truvativ chainrings feature Stainless Steel pickup pins for shifting longevity while precision finishing technologies and laser graphics are chosen, specific to a chainrings application, to provide durability and appeal. Our chainring technology provides quick and positive shifting.
