Advanced Product Quality Engineer - U.S.

Purpose: Ensure robust designs, consistent manufacturing, and deliver trouble-free operation to our customers through the effective execution of quality planning activities throughout the development cycle.

Location: 
San Luis Obispo, CA - Chicago, IL - Colorado Springs, CO

Responsibilities: 
  • Act as a partner resource to SRAM Product Development teams in the development of robust products by utilizing best-practice quality planning and applying statistical tools to minimize the probability and impact of unforeseen issues. 
  • Identify systems and components that have the highest impact on customer satisfaction, ensure testing plans focus on customer requirements, and support product management with reliability data.
  • Partner with Factory LPD Quality Engineer to ensure quality plans are effectively implemented into production.
  • Lead effective defect and failure analysis, and Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis teams to ensure problems are effectively analyzed and solved. 
  • Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to identify and solve field failures and other opportunities for improvement. 
  • Ensure reliability goals, life duration, reliability predictions, and usage profiles are effectively integrated into product requirements, design trade-offs, and other decision-making.

Qualifications: 

 

  • BS in Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience required, preferably with a Quality Engineering or Six-sigma Certification.
  • Experience in the bicycle industry highly valued.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the product development cycle, quality planning, testing, and process engineering.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with global team members in Europe and Asia.
  • Ability to create partnerships with development teams, influence operations, and share the quality message across the organization.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
