Leipheimer, a California resident, spent the better portion of a week protected by his powerful Astana teammates and and proved his mettle in the Solvang time trial on Friday. The two-time champion then held off all challengers on the steep slopes of Southern California Sierras during today's final stage into Escondido, CA. Leipheimer and his Astana teammates had zero issues riding the World’s lightest, most efficient, and most ergonomic gruppo, SRAM RED.

Leipheimer stated last year that aside from the reach adjust levers and the efficient shifting, the best thing about SRAM RED was the quarter pound of weight savings versus his previous componentry.

SRAM RED could also be found on Team OUCH, Team Jelly Belly, and Fly V Australia p/b Successful Living at this year’s Tour of California.
