SRAM enters its fourth year on the road and in its brief history boasts some incredible racing accomplishments including stage wins in every Grand Tour, as well as two overall Grand Tour victories. For 2009 SRAM will once again expand its ProTour presence with the addition of World number one Saxo Bank, the powerful German Milram team, and the new Spanish Fuji/Servetto squad. SRAM has added several Professional Continental teams in Europe and the U.S., highlighted below.

SRAM RED remains the top teams’ componentry of choice, with best-in-class ergonomics, weight and efficiency, and weighs in just over 1900 grams. With the BB30 option, a SRAM RED gruppo can weigh as little as 1800 grams. Riders have praised RED for its positive shifting courtesy of DoubleTap, incredible light weight thanks to advanced materials, and superior ergonomics thanks to our design engineers.

SRAM ProTour Teams

Team Astana is SRAM’s Grand Tour all-star squad. The Kazakhstan-based team is again loaded with prolific winners and is widely considered the best three-week team in cycling. Astana will look to dominate in the Grand Tours this year, focusing on the Tour de France with Alberto Contador, Lance Armstrong, Andreas Kloden, and Levi Leipheimer.

Team Saxo Bank switched to SRAM RED a few months into 2009 based on the fact that SRAM RED is proven and will give their riders the best chance of winning. Bjarne Riis’ number one ranked team hosts many of the World’s best including Fabian Cancellara, Frank Schleck, Jens Voigt, and Stuart O’Grady. The team will take a complete approach in trying to win Classics as well as Grand Tours with a balanced slate of talent that can win on any day. Team Milram returns a top squad that boasts Linus Gerdemann, Gerald Ciolek and Fabian Wegmann. The team is stacked with young talent and seasoned pros and, while expectations remain high, the teams focus will center on shorter stage races and the Classics. Certainly expect Milram to take advantage of every opportunity in any race.

Team Fuji-Servetto is a new team that will look to make some positive impressions in 2009. Fuji is an American frame brand that is capitalizing on its highly successful SL-1 bike, and Servetto is an Italian wardrobe manufacturer. The team hosts twenty-four riders including Ivan Dominguez, Danielle Nardello, and David dela Fuenta.

European Professional Continental
Team Agritubel temporarily held the coveted Maillot Jaune at the 2008 Tour. The French livestock feeder manufacturer will again look to take advantage of wild card bids in the World’s largest races with Romain Feillu, Nicolas Vogundy, Nicolas Jalabert, and Christophe Moreau. Team ISD
Newly created in 2009, the ISD professional cycling team gathers a mixture of experienced riders with a Pro Tour and Pro Continental background. Based between Italy and Ukraine, the team is managed by Angelo Citracca. Its best known rider is without a doubt Giovani Visconti who wore the pink jersey during the 2008 Giro d’Italia. Team Fuji Elk Haus

U.S. Professional
Team OUCH hosts some of the most formidable talent in the U.S., including returning superstar Floyd Landis. Look for the team to take the mantle as the dominant U.S. Continental team with Landis leading the charge. Kelly Benefit Strategies p/b Contour Sport is a tough program hosts a number of established pros including Alex Candelario, Andrew Basjidali,and Johnny Sundt. At the tactical helm is Jonas Carney, who will be the team’s Performance Director, guiding them in both training and racing.

Team Jelly Belly is celebrating their 10th anniversary. The popular team will host new riders as well as stalwarts Brad Huff, Jeremy Powers, Bryce Mead and Matty Rice. Trek Livestrong U23 is a developmental team sponsored by Lance Armstrong’s Cancer Foundation. The team will work with rising young talent including Taylor Phinney, Bjorn Selander and Ben King and directed by Axel Merckx. Australian Professional
Praties Cycling is SRAM's team down under. Ranked Australia's top continental team in 2008 winning in excess of 50 races including 18 NRS wins, the team's mission is to develop talented young riders and dominate the region. The team enters 2009 with high expectations.

U.S. Professional - Women’s Teams
Team TIBCO Women’s team won everywhere in ‘08 and will continue to race a complete calendar in 2009. Team Director Linda Jackson said her riders are ready to head into 2009 as favorites in most races they enter with a load of talent including National Champ Brooke Miller, Amber Rais, Lauren Tamayo, and Kat Carroll.
