Macca Makes the Leap to SRAM RED
|
Eleven-time Ironman® winner and two-time World Champion Chris McCormack has made a very deliberate choice to race SRAM’s top-end RED componentry for the balance of his professional career. The seven-time World Cup Champion said it was one of the easiest equipment choices he’s ever made, and with his stated goal of reclaiming his Ironman title, he only wants to align himself with companies whose focus is "performance improvement." "I’ve made the decision to align myself with companies who are performance driven… SRAM was an obvious choice. We share the same goals and mindset, it’s a perfect synergy: fast, lightweight, and comfortable componentry. What more can I ask for?" SRAM RED’s Exact Actuation shifting sets up easier and delivers more precise shifting than competitive systems. Additionally, the weight savings from Macca’s previous component gruppo is nearly 200 grams. For 2009 Chris plans an aggressive schedule of racing that will he hopes will conclude with a successful return to Kona.
