SRAM Sweeps Men's XC Nove Mesto Podium

Nino Schurter (Scott-Swisspower) celebrated his birthday last Sunday in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic by taking his second World Cup win for the 2012 season and a solid lead in the World Cup overall. The race was a close and gripping battle between five riders right from the start, all of them riding SRAM drivetrain and Avid brakes: all five finished on the podium. World Champion and local hero Jaroslav Kulhavy (Specialized) was second, followed by his teammate Burry Stander, with Marco Aurelio Fontana (Cannondale Factory Racing) and Ralfph Naef (Multivan Merida) topping off the all-SRAM podium. Both Kulhavy and Fontana opted for a SRAM X0 TYPE 2 rear derailleur, providing them with the optimal chain management on the fast and technical course in Nove Mesto.

The next round of the XC World Cup will be in La Bresse, France, May 19–20. The action is heating up as riders race to see who will qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games taking place in London this August.
