Veilluex wins NRC race on SRAM Rival - Miller dominates
|
SRAM Rival-equipped David Veilleux (Kelly Benefits Strategies) won Saturday’s sixth annual Presbyterian Hospital Criterium in Charlotte, NC. The young Canadian won with a late race solo attack from a 10-rider breakaway. Team TIBCO’s Brooke Miller also took the V with a sprint win at the Women’s race riding SRAM RED. The former national champ then followed that up on Sunday with a win at the Hanes Park Criterium in Winston Salem, NC. Veilleux raced his Rival-equipped "training" bike," (which very often happens when pros are not able to sync up with their team truck), as his regular race bike is SRAM RED equipped. It is the first US National Race Calendar (NRC) win for the latest version of SRAM's value leading Rival gruppo ($919). SRAM Rival was relaunched last year and borrows many of its technologies and features SRAM’s professional level RED group, Rival features a sleek carbon brake lever, zero-loss shifting, multiple cable routing options, and reach adjust for both the shift and brake levers. The new carbon brake lever lightens the control by 40 grams over previous, delivers better tactile feel, and just looks pro.
