Statement: For five years my artwork has celebrated people I know who traverse daunting challenges to achieve masterful living. With the SRAM pART PROJECT I expanded my vision through broad web searches, to Africa and a beautiful Zambian woman. I named her Paean as I stitched her image under a protective umbrella and pondered the pedals in her future. Her name denotes a song of joyful praise, an ancient Greek hymn of thanksgiving. Through her I send gratefulness for World Bicycle Relief and best wishes for empowerment to the people they serve.
