Mikhail Gubin
Gare Saint Lazare. After Claude Monet
Materials: SRAM parts, wood, metal, plastic, acrylic, ink
Dimensions: 20" w x 20" d x19" h
Statement: For me, these materials are symbolic: wood is a symbol of purity - Mother Nature -untouched by human hands; metal and plastic are both symbols of industrialization - symbols of human intervention into the natural course.

By working with these materials, I tried to blur the contradicting nature of those materials and symbols in an attempt to create something harmonious and balanced.

My goal was to demonstrate that nature and man can co-exist, and that human intervention in nature may not always be fatal.
