Rob Millard-Mendez was born in Lowell, Massachusetts – a city with an incredible industrial past. Growing up there fostered in him a fascination with late-19th Century mechanical technology. From an early age, he was enthralled with mechanics and motion.
He has exhibited his work in more than 350 shows in museums and galleries in 45 states and internationally. Rob has been invited to present his work in numerous one-person/two-person exhibitions, and he has delivered many lectures. His work has been featured in several books and periodicals, including Sculpture, American Craft, Lark Books 500 Chairs, and Lark Studio Series: Chairs. He has received more than 50 awards for his art and teaching, and his sculptures are included in more than 50 private and public collections. Rob has been teaching art at the college level since 1999.
