Born in England in 1975, Jacob moved to Salt Spring Island in British Columbia at the age of eight. The fourth son of an architect and a painter, he was immersed in the arts from a very young age, and graduated in 1999 from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver, BC with a BFA. After working in Vancouver constructing models, props, and sets with private companies and the IATSE local 891 film union, Jacob returned to Salt Spring Island to create a bronze art foundry. He currently casts his own work as well as offering metal casting and mould making services to other sculptors. He enjoys working with all materials and appreciates the challenge of incorporating found objects into his pieces.
