Anna arrived in Vancouver with her parents from Sweden when she was four, attended the Vancouver School of Art when she was eighteen, and has been making art her whole life! As a clothing designer, Anna achieved international recognition with Bravo Children’s Wear, which she co-founded with two partners in Vancouver in 1985. Anna is primarily an artist who learns media in order to fulfill a constantly evolving set of new ideas about what she wants to make. Glass, clay, encaustic, wood construction....Anna uses many tools and many techniques to realize her visions. Anna and her artist-husband and sometime collaborator, Paul Burke, moved to Salt Spring Island in 1996, and opened Blue Horse Folk Art Gallery in 2000, and Bloom Orrganic B+B, in 2010.
