Gillian is an Australian born, interdisciplinary artist whose work explores issues concerning popular culture, politics and psychology. With a clever use of visual metaphor, she challenges the dichotomies that divide us by gender, race, wealth, religion and nationality. Originally a printmaker, Gillian holds a BFA from Queen's University at Kingston Ontario. She has also studied textile and fashion design, marketing and multimedia. Her art practice is informed by work experience in everything from graphics and magazine production to camp cooking and swimming instruction.
An award-winning artist, Gillian's work is held in private collections in Canada and Australia. Her rug designs have appeared in several magazines including a feature article in Good Housekeeping (Australia) February 1987.
