Art is central to our lives. The human visual experience is through line, colour and light. When I create an art piece it helps me make sense of shifting views and tensions. I've been spending time of late thinking about our impact on the planet's atmosphere - impossibly invisible yet something without which it would be impossible to live. I've been working on a series of paintings "Energy Profiles" - a visual expression of spreadsheets, meter readings and flue gases - bringing the invisible into view. It's the waste product of our existence. A vapour trail of eddying emotions, discarded artifacts and toxic gases. What is our legacy – how will what we leave behind define our world’s future?
