Lead SRAM’s global strategy to drive greater participation in cycling through policy, advocacy, and community engagement. This includes mountain, road, and gravel with the goal of expanding the current market size in each category. Create a practical, results-oriented strategy that focuses on expanding the cycling market size by working with underrepresented groups such as women, BIPOC, and youth. Build on SRAM’s leadership role in the cycling industry through partnerships with non-profits and the grass-roots cycling movement; and leveraging broad public, government, and business resources. Coordinate and influence coalitions and campaigns. Advise and coach external partners and nonprofits. Guide the development of SRAM strategies, objectives, and metrics to track progress. Engage and ensure alignment with corporate goals and throughout the broader SRAM team with a particular focus on customer-facing teams in MarCom, Product, Sales, and Sales Operations. Champion the values of community, inclusion, equity, and sustainability.


  • Lead the development and implementation of cycling growth objectives and strategies aligned with SRAM’s priorities
  • Supervise SRAM grant-making and partner support
  • Cross-functional coordination of advocacy within SRAM planning and budgeting
  • Facilitate and calibrate advocacy efforts amongst employees and at SRAM offices
  • Connect with and influence associations, suppliers, and customers in their advocacy efforts
  • Build relationships, network, and advise key nonprofit partners and coalitions
  • Create opportunities that can be leveraged with multiple parties to gain scale and productivity in our efforts
  • Communicate and be accountable for results from advocacy initiatives
  • Represent SRAM throughout the cycling movement
  • Ensure our team is up to date on policy, regulation, trends, and direction
  • Lead SRAM’s engagement with policymakers at all levels of government


  • Bachelor’s degree in the relevant area
  • MBA, law, or other advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of advocacy experience
  • KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
  • Demonstrated commitment to the Power of Bicycles
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strategic and analytical thinker who serves as a thought leader and partner, with a growth mindset
  • Ability to address multiple issues and oversee the execution of a variety of activities efficiently and effectively
  • Proven leadership demonstrated by the ability to motivate, delegate, and effectively communicate with both direct reports and cross-functional team members
  • Experience implementing business process management tools and practices
  • Experience running a business unit with P&L responsibility
  • Experience with or passion to learn about all the facets of cycling advocacy including (but not limited to) industry associations (national and local), safety/accessibility groups, non-profits, volunteer organizations, and youth /community cycling programs
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 30% US and abroad.)
  • Ability to work in an open-plan office environment.
  • Calls at alternative timelines (AM/PM with other locations)
