Provide leadership of continuous improvement activity in Indianapolis manufacturing operations in order to optimize safety, quality, and productivity. Coach and mentor team members in problem-solving, identification of opportunities, and executing changes. Must possess a positive approach that sees changes and problems as opportunities, and never stops encouraging new ideas.
Aufgabenbereiche
- Provide support to manufacturing team members by responding promptly to issues that impact production
- Identify opportunities that lead to improvement in safety/ergonomics, quality, productivity, and cost
- Mentor manufacturing team members to solicit, analyze, and facilitate the implementation of manufacturing improvement ideas
- Support team members in the interpretation of visual standards, and coordinate improvements to manufacturing standards and work instructions
- Lead and support kaizen activities
- Work closely with Production Supervisors and Engineers to support the development of new and improved manufacturing processes
- Design new fixtures and tools that support improvement in the above areas
- Coordinate with Maintenance department to assist in planned and unplanned equipment diagnosis and repair
- Provide CI training and coaching
- May perform other duties as assigned
Qualifikationen
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- Minimum 5 years working hands-on in a manufacturing environment
- The ability to work in a multicultural environment with a wide range of functions is required
- Experience with problem-solving and analysis tools such as PDCA, A3’s, and PFMEA is required
- Experience writing work instructions and procedures are required
- Experience with lean concepts such as flow pull, and takt and tools such as value stream mapping, workload balancing, and standard work is highly desired
- Patience to train and coach a team with a focus on quality and on-time delivery
- Knowledge of basic manufacturing operations of molded parts such as cutting, drilling, and finishing is desired
- Experience with CAD software such as Solidworks, Creo, or AutoCAD is desired
