Ferrand-Prévot, 25, of France started at the back of the grid and finished fourth at DVV Verzekeringen Trofee (Belgium). Then Sunday, again starting in the back, she won at Vlaamse Druivencross (Belgium). Pauline rode SRAM® RED® eTap® HRD and Zipp® 202 Firecrest® Tubular Disc-brake wheels on her Canyon Inflite CF SLX.

“I needed to have time away from the bike after the Olympics and last winter was a good time to do that," Ferrand-Prévot said in a team release. "Normally I would have liked to race. But that time away was important and so now it’s been two years since I raced cyclocross.”

After her successful weekend she said: “I’m super happy with my weekend. Not just for the win today but also because of Saturday’s race in Essen. I didn’t know what would happen, what my form was like, what to expect in that race. I started last line and fought hard all race to finish fourth. I was happy because I didn’t feel great, but more so because it gave me confidence for the rest of the season.”

Ferrand-Prévot has set a five-race program, according to CANYON//SRAM Racing, starting with last weekend’s races in Belgium. Her upcoming cyclocross schedule is:

  • Dec. 17 – Namur World Cup
  • Dec. 26 – Zolder World Cup
  • Dec. 30 – Diegem Super Prestige

In January she’ll contest the French National Championships in Quelneuc. Ferrand-Prévot is an accomplished racer in cyclocross, road and mountain biking including world championships in each discipline.
