Overview


Supports manufacturing operations on 2nd shift by assisting production personnel with problem solving, defining and following quality standards, maintaining production equipment, and performing inspection of finished rims and wheels. Works closely with Production Supervisors and Engineers to support the development of new and improved manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities


  • Works closely with Production Leads, auditing processes and ensuring compliance to defined methods and standards; monitors and tracks process performance
  • Participates in Tier meetings to identify Quality and Engineering required support and shift to shift hand-offs
  • Inspects finished rims to verify conformance to visual standards
  • Coordinates with Maintenance department to assist in planned and unplanned equipment diagnosis and repair
  • Coordinates closely with 1st shift Engineering and Operations personnel, especially on new and improved processes, to ensure consistency and reduce shift to shift variation
  • Assists with training personnel, especially in Inspection
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset- recognizing past accomplishments while always seeking new opportunities for quality and productivity improvements
  • May perform back up coverage for Production Supervisors on occasion
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications


  • High school diploma, or equivalent experience, is required
  • Associates Degree in a technical field is desired
  • 3+ years working hands-on in a manufacturing environment
  • Patience to train and coach a team with focus on quality and on time delivery
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with a wide range of functions
  • Experience with or ability to learn logical problem-solving skills such as PDCA, 8D, or A3
  • Proven self-starter with an ability to work independently
  • Ability to read technical specifications with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to become proficient in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc)
  • Ability to work Saturdays when production is needed
  • Be flexible for overtime with production volume increases
  • From time to time be flexible to work alternate shifts
  • Ability to continuously stand or walk at least 80% of the time
  • Ability to bend, squat, twist, climb stairs, and lift frequently
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
