Transportation & Logistics Procurement Specialist

Develop and maintain relationships as well as negotiate contracts with various transportation companies and carriers for global, regional, local and niche transportation of SRAM goods.


  • Analyze and deliver transportation improvements and cost savings while enhancing service level
  • Facilitate global transportation requirements for import/export with cross-functional teams, including bookings for various modes of transportation, tracking and resolution of delays
  • Manage multiple freight forwarders and Customs brokers, communicating the company's standards of operation, and measuring performance
  • Track and report shipment results
  • Develop and manage logistics KPIs
  • Respond to shipping complaints, lost items, and damages
  • Determine needs for expansion of routes and schedules
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with company processes
  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
  • Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements
  • May perform other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or related field, or equivalent related technical experience
  • 5-years experience in logistics, preferably including experience working with dangerous goods like batteries
  • Background in multi-modal global logistics management
  • Solid understanding of international and domestic freight while supporting global manufacturing and distribution
  • Strong strategic, problem-solving, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Excellent planning, organization, and leadership skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects or priorities
  • Communicate across all levels of an organization, listen, and understand information presented by people with different communication styles
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time
