Romain Bardet began his professional career in 2012 with his current team AG2R LA MONDIALE. While he is one of the best all-around riders in the peloton, he remains of man with interests and talents beyond racing. Romain is currently studying Business and is serving an internship with the ASM Rugby club. He describes it as a “rich experience that allow me to open up on an other sport and help me to have another approach in terms of communication.”

His recent 2nd place at the Dauphiné proves that he is in good form and his results at the 2014 and 2015 Tour prove his ability to contend for the General Classification. 2016 will be the French rider’s fourth Tour de France. “I have high ambitions without being quantifiable and final,” he said. "The Tour is full of surprises so we need to be reactive and able to adapt. A good general classification is one of my goals. The mountain stages especially in the last week will be a good playing field for riders like me.

The 25-year-old describes himself as “determined, pugnacious and daring,” and knows that “le Tour’s can be lost at every stage but the second half of the third week will be crucial.”

Here’s a look at his Tour de France Focus Izalco Max (56cm/L) SRAM RED® eTap® equipped machine. “The smoothness of shifting and the incredible intuitive shift logic” are what he likes the most about SRAM RED eTap.
