Dan lives and works in Chicago, where he’s Assistant Professor of Sculpture at the Art Institute of Chicago. He holds a BA in Fine Art from Colorado College and an MFA in Sculpture with Honors from the Rhode Island School of Design. Danís videos and sculptures have been exhibited at the Triple Candie Gallery and White Columns Gallery in New York; the Angstrom Gallery in Los Angeles; the Kennedy Museum in Athens, Ohio; and the Rhode Island School of Design Museum of Art in Providence. Dan has served as artist-in-residence at Art Omi in New York; Can Serrat in Spain; Elsewhere Elsewhere in Greensboro, North Carolina; and the Banff Centre in Canada. He has taught art and English in Xhosa High School in South Africa and completed a two-year course of study as a Core Student at the Penland School of Arts and Crafts in North Carolina, where he studied with John T Scott, Hoss Haley, Pinky Bass, Deborah Luster, and other distinguished artists. He has worked for several design firms, including No Design in New Orleans and Glass Project Inc. in Jamestown, Rhode Island.
