Andrew Wilhelm is an artist living and working in Brooklyn. His sculptures revel in the process of working material into new forms and act as models for thinking about unseen mysteries in the universe. He holds an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and a BFA from Kutztown University. He also attended Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.
Andrew has been awarded residencies at Bemis Center for Contemporary Art, Atlantic Center for the Arts, Vermont Studio Center, and has recently been included in exhibitions at the Governors Island Art Fair and Bullet Space in New York. He is currently an adjunct professor at Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.
Andrew is also an avid cyclist, and rode across the country in 2009, traversing the Rockies and touring Route. 1 from San Francisco to L.A. along the way. He is a regular bicycle commuter in New York City and races at the Kissena Velodrome in Queens during the summer. This year he was on the fastest Team Sprint team at the New York State Track Championship.
