Cynthia Brody has been an exhibiting artist for over 35 years. She combines photo imagery with acrylic paints and found materials to create allegorical stories and moods. Brody has created pieces that depict women, often in surreal surroundings and utilizing varied media. Themes represented are love, relationships with men and with children, and the place of women within society. Her works incorporate elements of beauty contrasted with the strong statements and pensive attitudes of the women depicted. Cynthia is also a psychotherapist practicing in the San Francisco, California area. Her interest in the psyche is reflected in her artwork. She is a contributing artist and editor of Bittersweet Legacy – Creative Responses to the Holocaust, an anthology of art and poetry, and has curated related museum and gallery exhibits.
