Team KATUSHA ALPECIN’S persistence paid off. Alexander Kristoff sprinted to victory in Sunday’s Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic, set up by determined team effort in the final kilometers.

The victory was especially sweet after the recent Tour de France, where the team was ever present at the front of the peloton yet did not win a stage. KATUSHA showed its force near the end of the 185.9km Ride London race. With about 10km to go, Nils Politt drove the pace at the front of the pack to catch the breakaway with just 1 km to go. “The team did amazing work today, especially Nils to pull back those guys. There were not many teams who wanted to work with us so we did the main job and pulled it off at the end,” Kristoff said in a team release.

Kristoff rode SRAM RED eTap with Quarq power, and Zipp 404s.

SRAM Neutral Race Support provided race coverage for the men’s and women’s RideLondon events, the first race’s covered by SRAM NRS in Europe.
