2017-2018 SRAM Cyclocross Lineup
Cyclocross superstars Wout van Aert (Belgium) and Sophie De Boer (the Netherlands) headline SRAM’s 2017-2018 cylocross roster.
Van Aert, the world’s No. 1 ranked Elite Male, is a two-time defending world champ who inspires fans with his gritty performances and burgeoning rivalry with Dutchman Mathieu van Der Poel. De Boer, ranked No. 3 among Elite Women, showed her consistency by winning the World Cup last season. Watch also for top performances from van Aert’s Crelan-Charles teammate Tim Merlier (Belgium) and brothers Rob and Yannick Peeters (Belgium) of Pauwels Sauzen Vastgoedservice. Pauline Ferrand-Prévot (France) of CANYON//SRAM Racing is a former World Champion back on top form.
Jeremy Powers became a U.S. cyclocross legend by winning multiple national titles and many other races. He looks to add to his palmarès while also helping to expand his Aspire Racing team to support promising young riders Ellen Noble (USA) and Spencer Petrov (USA). Noble was the discovery of American cyclocross last season, winning the U23 World Cup and taking silver at the U23 world championships.
U.S. National Champ Stephen Hyde looks to build on his winning ways in North America while also achieving top results in Europe. Hyde’s Cannondale p/b CyclocrossWorld.com team remains the powerhouse of U.S. cyclocross with Kaitlin Keough (USA) off to a great start with a second place this month at the Jingle Cross World Cup. Siblings Emma and Curtis White (USA) are also rising stars and podium threats. SRAM also continues its investment in the next generation with its support of the Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld.com Devo team.
Beyond the big teams, Tobin Ortenblad (USA) of Santa Cruz Bicycles looks to build on his successes of last season. Long-time SRAM athlete Cody Kaiser (USA) of Lang Twins Winery p/b Specialized also returns to our roster.
Each year, we assemble a lineup of veteran pros and young developing riders that’s purpose-built to excel in the world’s biggest cyclocross races. The purpose is to inspire but also to help us develop and prove equipment. Some of our most innovative products– SRAM RED eTap HRD and Force 1 most notably – were developed in part by gleaning feedback from our cyclocross pros.
