In a simple but significant gesture, AG2R LA MONDIALE this week officially ushered in a new era of wireless shifting. At Vuelta a Espana, Matteo Montaguti and other AG2R LA MONDIALE riders peeled away the SRAM stickers to reveal the official logos of SRAM RED eTap® just hours after the groupset was officially unveiled at the Eurobike show in Germany. BrakeThrough Media was at the Vuelta to capture the moment.

AG2R LA MONDIALE has been riding SRAM's new wireless groupset for much of the season, including in every stage of the Tour de France with a stage victory by Vuillermoz on Stage 8. SRAM RED eTAP was tested on more than 750,000km of road.  Photo ©BrakeThrough Media

Featuring SRAM’s advanced shift logic (right lever makes it harder, left lever makes it easier, both levers to change the front ring) with SRAM RED eTap you’ll shift more, with less effort and spend less time doing it. Shifting has never been more intuitive or as easy as this. Photo ©BrakeThrough Media

SRAM RED eTap® Battery is the power source for the eTap system. The same power unit is interchangeable between front and rear derailleurs. The battery can provide more than 1000 kilometers of riding per charge. Photo ©BrakeThrough Media

The SRAM RED eTap® Front Derailleur makes a good thing better by executing front shifts confidently and quickly over our proprietary wireless communication protocol, AIREA™. The eTap shifter optimizes SRAM Yaw adjustments as needed throughout the shift range with no need for rider input. Photo ©BrakeThrough Media

SRAM RED eTap® features race-car-inspired paddle shift logic that virtually eliminates mistaking upshifts for downshifts, while keeping shifting precise, fast, and easy. It’s a logic that is simplified for speed: right lever makes it harder, left lever makes it easier, both levers to change the front ring. Photo ©BrakeThrough Media

The function button on each paddle is designed for micro adjustments while riding or in the workstand. Push the button and the shift paddle at the same time to move the rear derailleur .2mm. Photo ©BrakeThrough Media

With the short sticker peeling ceremony complete, it's back to racing with SRAM RED eTap for AG2R LA MONDIALE. Photo ©BrakeThrough Media
