Native Women Ride
Guarina Lopez is a member of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe of Tucson, Arizona, and currently resides in the ancestral lands of the Piscataway and Nacotchtank tribes in Washington, D.C. Guarina is a visual artist, storyteller, athlete, and mother to a 13-year-old skateboarder. She is an environmental and Indigenous rights advocate whose life’s work is dedicated to sharing stories of the Native people and the land throughout Turtle Island. ACCOMPLISHMENTS: My bike accomplishments: races include TOAD, SBT, Dirty Kitten Gravel and the Mid South. I rode 220 miles from Washington, D.C. to Carlisle, PA to raise awareness for Native American boarding school survivors.
