CUSTOMIZE YOUR CONTROLS

Apex AXS controls increase your confidence and comfort while braking, no matter your hand size. With adjustable reach, better grip around the hoods, and more room for your fingers when braking, your Apex AXS controls are designed to make braking easy and effective even if the terrain or weather is out of control.

ADJUST YOUR REACH

Change how easy it is to grab the brake lever from the drops with the Reach Adjust feature. With a 2.5mm wrench, you can tailor your brake lever position by turning the screw underneath the hood clockwise to bring the brake lever closer to the drops, or counterclockwise to move it away. The shift paddle will automatically move with the brake lever.

To ensure proper brake engagement, we recommend performing the pad advancement procedure to compensate for the new lever position.  This will prevent the brake lever from contacting the handlebar or pinching fingers.

CONFIGURE CONTROLS

We like shifting to an easier gear with our left hand and a harder gear with our right. Want the opposite? Open your bike profile in the AXS app and use the Configure Controls menu to invert shift logic or program remote shift buttons.

AXS INTEGRATIONS

Pair a bike computer to your AXS ecosystem to better understand and improve your ride experience.

BIKE COMPUTER INTEGRATION

Most ANT+ bike computers will display real-time gearing, battery life, and power data when a power meter crankset is installed. For maximum system integration, try using a Hammerhead Karoo 2 to view all of your component configurations and gear selection.

ADD A POWER METER

Using a power meter to understand your efforts is a powerful tool for building fitness. SRAM power meters integrate seamlessly with AXS, using gauges that precisely measure torque and capture your power (in watts) and cadence (as RPM) from the left crank arm and spindle. See these metrics right on your cycling computer while only adding 40g to the crankset.

Easily upgrade your AXS crankset with an AXS power meter crankarm. It hides the power measurement unit inside the crank spindle to determine left side power and calculate total watts. It’s the perfect way to enter the world of riding with power.

REMOTE SHIFTING WITH WIRELESS BLIPS

If you want to shift from any hand position, Wireless Blips are the perfect solution for adding remote shift points. We like adding Blips to the handlebar tops for shifting in a comfortable climbing position or in the drops while charging into a headwind.

ADD A DROPPER SEAT POST

The RockShox Reverb AXS XPLR wireless dropper post delivers more control, confidence, and fun on even the sketchiest gravel roads. Getting the saddle out of the way means more room for you to move and maneuver while descending. Once paired with your AXS drivetrain, the dropper is actuated with a simultaneous press of both shift paddles.
