The Trade Compliance & Supply Chain Manager serves as the primary regulatory authority for global trade compliance and provides cross‑functional guidance on supply chain–related regulatory requirements. This role ensures the organization’s import, export, customs, and due‑diligence activities meet all applicable global regulations.

Aufgabenbereiche


  • Trade Compliance (Primary Regulatory Ownership):
  • Serve as the regulatory authority for all global trade compliance matters, including import, export, customs, and sanctions.
  • Interpret and implement trade laws and regulations (e.g., customs laws, export controls, sanctions regimes, Dual‑Use regulations, anti‑dumping rules).
  • Develop and maintain trade compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Provide guidance on:
  • HTS classification
  • Country‑of‑origin determinations
  • Customs valuation and tariff treatment
  • Free Trade Agreement (FTA) eligibility and origin rules
  • Review and approve trade compliance positions taken by the business.
  • Supply Chain Compliance – Regulatory Oversight (Non‑Operational):
  • Provide regulatory oversight for supply chain compliance areas intersecting with trade, including:
  • Forced labor and human rights regulations
  • Supplier traceability and origin substantiation
  • Alignment between supplier declarations and customs filings
  • Ensure alignment between supply chain due‑diligence outputs and trade compliance documentation.
  • Advise Supply Chain Compliance and Procurement teams on regulatory interpretation and risk exposure.
  • Support regulatory reviews, audits, and enforcement actions related to supply chain compliance.
  • Governance, Risk & Escalation:
  • Establish a risk‑based governance model for trade compliance, including escalation thresholds and decision frameworks.
  • Lead internal trade compliance risk assessments and gap analyses.
  • Support internal audits, regulatory inquiries, and external investigations.
  • Escalate material compliance risks to senior leadership.
  • Cross‑Functional Direction & Advisory:
  • Provide regulatory training and guidance to Manufacturing and Operations, Sourcing and Procurement, Sales, Customer Service, and regional business teams
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to ensure business decisions reflect regulatory considerations.
  • Align trade compliance guidance with broader product, environmental, and sustainability compliance frameworks.
  • Regulatory Intelligence & Continuous Improvement:
  • Monitor global regulatory developments and assess impacts on products, markets, and supply chains.
  • Drive continuous improvement of compliance frameworks, documentation, and controls.
  • Contribute to regulatory strategy and industry engagement.

Qualifikationen


  • Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in international trade, supply chain, engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in trade compliance, customs, or related regulatory roles.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex regulations and communicate clearly with non‑regulatory stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a global, multi‑region manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred
  • Experience in supply chain due diligence, forced labor regulations, or ESG‑related compliance.
  • Experience working with regulators, customs authorities, or enforcement agencies.
  • Key Competencies
  • Strong regulatory judgment and risk‑based decision‑making.
  • Ability to influence without operational ownership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective cross‑functional influence at senior levels.
  • Ability to balance business objectives with compliance obligations.
  • Salary range is $120,000 + up to 33% based on skills and experience level. This position is eligible for an annual corporate bonus based on company and individual performance.
