All Power. All Control. All Maven.

Maven is the most powerful brake we’ve ever made. Defined by usable power for efficiency and tunability. Extreme power for elevated speed and control on ever-more demanding terrain. Maven gives you the power to progress. The boundless power of confidence. The power of more endurance and less fatigue, allowing you to leverage subtlety and consistency on every trail. Maven. New powers to go ahead.

More power

Maven is the definition of power in mountain bike braking, delivering nearly 50% more power than it’s sibling Motive. While it’s tempting to focus on this fact alone, Maven is about more than brute force.

More control

Power isn’t just about stopping fast, it’s about precision. The ability to apply braking exactly when and where you need it demands usable, predictable power. Maven delivers that control, giving you smoother modulation and pinpoint accuracy, for total confidence in any terrain.

Progressively powerful

All-New SwingLink

How does Maven deliver control? Enter SwingLink, a custom-shaped “cam” which creates an intentional progressive lever action that builds more power as you pull. This unique shape defines the leverage-rate curve, dictating power delivery and ride characteristics. This redesigned SwingLink is tuned for smoother power delivery and enhanced modulation, reduces lever force for a more intuitive feel, all while maintaining class-leading power.

Right ratio

Maven’s power is delivered via four 18mm pistons, a configuration selected to optimize the hydraulic ratio when paired with the new SwingLink leverage rate curve. Big caliper pistons mean more force to push the pads, creating maximum friction with less effort, giving you incredible power without fatigue.

Welcome to "powertunability."

Maven’s surplus power makes it the go-to for the literal extreme of the sport. But with all that power, you can also tune it down. Think of it like volume. You might want to max it out and listen at full power, or turn it down and enjoy subtlety and precision. More available power gives you more options.

To beat heat, harness heat.

The common misconception is that heat is a brake’s worst enemy. The fact is, heat is essential. For a brake to be powerful and consistent, it must retain enough heat in the system but avoid quick fluctuations between hot and cold. It’s an art. An art where Maven shines.

It starts with seals

In the caliper, Maven’s piston seals use a proprietary material that retains its properties to maintain air-tight sealing regardless of extreme braking heat or low atmospheric temperatures. These remarkable heat-tolerant seals also enable Maven to overcome the past weakness associated with mineral oil, and use mineral oil for its advantages. Take on the most extreme terrain and longest descents with a consistent feel, run after run, ride after ride.

Smart thermal mass

Built for greater thermal mass, Maven calipers take longer to heat up and keep excess heat at bay, yet retain optimal heat so as to not cool down too fast. When the caliper avoids the peaks and valleys of hot and cold, consistency of performance reaches totally new levels.

Four bolts for power

Measure any brake caliper under power and you’ll find flex. Maven’s four caliper body bolts aren’t just for show. They contribute to lossless power at the caliper, translating to a solid feel in the lever, befitting its power.

Tuning power

Maven A1 Lever Tuning Kit

Maven is our most tunable brake—and now you can take customization even further with the Maven Lever Tuning Kit. Each kit includes the redesigned SwingLink B1 plus your choice of carbon or aluminum levers. Go carbon for weight savings and reduced temperature sensitivity or choose aluminum with a textured cutout for maximum stiffness and grip. Compatibility is simple: if your Maven SwingLink is red, this kit is for you. Maven Ultimate and Silver levers with pivot bearings are cross-compatible, while Maven Bronze uses its own dedicated kit. Installation is quick with no brake bleed required.
