VALI HÖLL: FIVE FOR FIVE

An unstoppable force in Women’s DH racing, Vali Höll secured her fifth consecutive World Championship title on Val di Sole’s relentless track, the Black Snake. Joined on the podium by teammates Lisa Baumann (P2, Elite Women) and Tilly Boadle (P1, Junior Women), Commencal Schwalbe by Les Orres dominated the world stage. There was a different energy in Les Gets this week. Perhaps it was the last European round, perhaps the summer break had people refreshed, or perhaps it was the anticipation that the wildest race of the year lay ahead. Either way, that energy carried riders, staff and fans into race week with momentum that finally erupted on race day.

Chaotic, loud and relentless, the list of historic moments to come out of Les Gets has only grown. Max Alran taking his first Elite win in front of a home crowd. The Specialized Factory XC team watching every piece of hard work pay off as Sina and Adrien swept both XCC and XCO across the weekend, something that has never been done before. And Vali Höll, quietly clinching the Elite Women's Overall title with two rounds still to go.

Racing is full of big, loud, stand-out moments, slowly built across the weekend by the small, cumulative efforts of everyone involved. That's what makes those wins possible and so beautiful to the riders, the team staff, and to everyone here at RockShox and SRAM.

MAX ALRAN TAKES FIRST ELITE WIN ON HOME SOIL

The move from Junior to Elite is never as simple as a rider expects. The pace is relentless, the margin for error smaller, the field faster and deeper than ever before. Max has taken the year in stride, absorbing the hard lessons and learning from the experienced riders around him.

But Max was different in Les Gets. From the first practice run there was something more, a confidence that isn't spoken, only shown. Dry and dusty, muddy and messy, hard-packed ruts, it didn't matter. Max was unbeatable, sweeping the weekend from timed training through qualifying and into his first ever Elite victory.

After the race he casually smiled and said, "I was really chill at the start, it was weird. It was like I knew I was going to win."

VALI LOCKS DOWN SERIES WIN

All she needed was a top 5 to win it all, two rounds short of the end. Finishing 3rd in Les Gets, Vali Höll extended her lead and for the fifth time in seven Elite seasons, becomes World Cup Overall Champion. The dominance is undeniable.

Heading into World Championship weekend, all eyes will be on Vali to defend the UCI rainbow stripes. There is also the matter of the final two rounds. Last season, Vali wrapped up the overall with one round to go and raced the finale in shorts, a DH faux-pas of sorts. With the title already secured and the pressure off, the only real question left is: what will she wear this time? Jorts?

SID SWEEPS IN LES GETS

SID Ultimate Flight Attendant swept the women's podium in both XCC and XCO, with Sina Frei pulling off the double victory and Jenny Rissveds and Savilia Blunk taking 2nd and 3rd across both races. Not to be outdone by his teammate Sina, Adrien Boichis continued the SID winning streak with a double of his own, taking both the XCC and XCO wins in the men's field. David List of Decathlon Ford Racing claimed his first World Cup podium with a 3rd in XCC, and Martin Vidaurre returned to the podium with a 3rd in XCO putting SID on 10 of 12 podium positions.
