How To Clean And Care For Karoo And Accessories

Your Karoo and its accessories are designed and built with a focus on performance and durability to give you peace of mind no matter the riding conditions. Just like the other components on your bike, your Karoo will perform optimally with regular care and maintenance.  

CLEANING YOUR KAROO 

If your bike needs a wash, consider removing your Karoo and cleaning it too. From dust and dirt to sweat and energy gels, all kinds of buildup can make its way onto your device’s screen and around the buttons. Thankfully your Karoo is completely water and dustproof as long as your USB-C charge port cover is installed and fully seated. For a basic clean, all you need is a damp cloth. A deeper clean will require soaking your powered-off Karoo in a mixture of water and mild soap. Let’s cover both options: 

WASHING YOUR HEART RATE STRAP

Your Hammerhead Heart Rate Monitor features an adjustable and washable elastic strap with an easily detachable sensor pod. We recommend removing the sensor pod from your strap after each ride for cleaning and storage. The salt in sweat can degrade the strap materials over time, so washing is even more important after indoor training sessions or hot summer rides. We recommend handwashing with gentle soap in your post-ride shower or in the sink. The strap is also machine washable, but handwashing will prolong its lifespan.
