Overview

The Director of SAP will be responsible for the strategic direction, development, and management of SAP, SRAM’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform. Directs a global team and oversees the development, release, and continuous improvement of SAP and its supporting systems. This role requires expertise in SAP, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with SRAM’s functions and value streams to ensure business performance and drive new technology initiatives.

Responsibilities


  • Develop and execute the strategy for SAP (including upgrades) that aligns with the company's business goals and objectives. Provide leadership to the SAP team and stakeholders.
  • Oversee SAP projects including major upgrades (e.g. ECC to S/4) from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Manage priorities and resources across multiple projects and teams.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the SAP team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Ensure the team has the necessary skills and resources to achieve their objectives.
  • Continuously assess and improve SAP systems and processes to enhance business efficiency, data quality, and system performance. Drive the adoption of best practices and innovations in SAP solutions.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and IT counterparts to identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements. Act as a key liaison between IT and business units to ensure SAP projects meet business needs.
  • Manage relationships with SAP vendors and consultants, ensuring high-quality service and alignment with business objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with SAP operations and projects. Implement robust security measures and compliance protocols to protect data integrity and system availability.
  • Develop and manage the budget for the SAP IT organization, including project budgets, operational expenses, and investments in new projects.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in SAP systems management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing SAP operations and project management.
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP systems, modules, and best practices.
  • Experience with large and complex SAP implementation, migration, and upgrade projects. Previous experience upgrading from ECC to S/4 strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with strong organizational and people management skills.
  • Strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to align SAP initiatives with business goals.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on process improvement and optimization.
  • Proficient in project management methodologies and tools, with a track record of managing complex SAP projects.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting and financial management as it relates to IT projects and operations.
  • Up to 20% travel including international.
  • Ideally have worked in a manufacturing and or consumer products industry.
