Sam Hill First Impressions: ZEB

Sam Hill may be a man of few words, but when he took ZEB out for a first run at Tune Camp in Peille, France, the feedback was clear from the start. Smooth and more balanced. When it comes to the clock, smooth is fast.

Working intensely alongside his trusted mechanic and close friend, Jacy Shumilak as well as RockShox Product Manager, Jon Cancellier, Hill meticulously articulated the settings on the fork, run by run. Air pressure, LSC, HSC, and rebound all play a role in finding the sweet spot that allows Hill to effortlessly fly down one of the roughest tracks we could find.

I came here a long time ago, '06 or '07. I'm pretty keen to set that new fork and see how it goes.

On a track like this, that's super rocky, you can just come into a section, and just let the fork do the work, and monster truck through.

One of my favorite things about the new ZEB is the larger air volume which equals lower riding pressures. This gives you the ability to do some really fine-tuning.

–Jacy Shumilak

Jacy Shumalik has been by Sam Hill's side for nearly his entire career and possesses a sixth sense when it comes to dialing Sam's set-up.

“The additional stiffness in the ZEB chassis combined with the new DebonAir spring gives Sam the confidence to charge thru the roughest of sections of EWS race stages. At times the athletes are racing stages almost blind, so having confidence is everything.

One of my favorite things about the new ZEB is the larger air volume which equals lower riding pressures. This gives you the ability to do some really fine-tuning. Changes as little as half of a PSI are noticeable and give us the ability to set the fork up exactly where he wants it.”
