He lost the Giro d’Italia on its slopes in 2018, but in 2025 Simon Yates returned to the Colle delle Finestre and exorcised his demons with a spectacular attack. After a stage for the ages, the Visma-Lease a Bike rider won the Giro by nearly four minutes, capping a dream tour for the team. Beyond Yates’ GC triumph, Wout van Aert and Olav Kooij each won memorable stages on the long road to Rome.

SRAM athletes filled the top of the results sheet, with Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe’s Giulio Pellizari, Movistar’s Einer Rubio, and Tudor’s Michael Storer all racing to top 10 GC performances. And despite losing their GC man to a crash, Lidl-Trek was the team of the Giro. Mads Pedersen won four stages and the ciclamino jersey of best sprinter, Daan Hoole and Carlos Verona added stage wins of their own, and the squad was active fighting for victory every day.
