Rampage Rides: Semenuk
Brandon Semenuk’s SRAM and RockShox equipped Trek Session Park.
Brandon Semenuk is known to be a slopestyle god, but when it comes to Red Bull Rampage, the former winner is no slouch, merging big mountain prowess with the technical tricks of Joyride. This year, he landed in 4th place, and was voted by the fans as the winner of the People’s Choice award. He did it all aboard his black and gold SRAM and RockShox equipped Trek Session Park.
Brandon’s build starts with our custom Gold Metal SRAM X01 DH, which we gave to our athletes who had previously won the famed event. The Gold isn’t lighter or stronger or different in any way—it was given simply as a token of our appreciation and respect. A 36 tooth SRAM X-SYNC Direct Mount chainring, without a chainguide, completes his 1x setup.
His suspension was set up for unique nature of the Rampage course, where repeated big hits are more prevalent than the constant chatter of a traditional Downhill run. Let's start with his weight for reference; he weighs in at 175 lbs. Up front, his RockShox BoXXer World Cup was set up with 3 tokens and 118 PSI. He ran his compression 7 clicks from open, and his rebound was set 4 clicks from closed. As comparison, Graham Agassiz at 150 lbs, was running 5 tokens with 110 PSI. Out back he was on a RockShox Vivid R2C with a 650 lbs spring.
To finish his build, he was on a TRUVATIV Stevie Smith BlackBox Bar at full width, a 50mm TRUVATIV Holzfeller Direct Mount stem, and a TRUVATIV Noir T40 seatpost. His wheels are laced up with SRAM X0 hubs, and he was riding Code brakes with 180mm SRAM Centerline rotors.
