French riders Reboul and Lemoine take early event wins at Crankworx Innsbruck

Crankworx Whistler’s Crabapple Hits might be the most prestigious location for a Whip Off event — it is the Whip Off World Championship, after all — but the Alpine Whip Off Championship venue at Crankworx Innsbruck is easily the most stunningly beautiful, with the Tyrolean Alps as a backdrop.

Perhaps inspired by the scenery, Louis Reboul won — more amplitude, more style, more clean — simple as that. Seriously, sometimes a guy just dominates.

Reboul’s Scott was equipped with a RockShox BoXXer World Cup fork, Vivid R2C shock, Code brakes and a SRAM X01 DH drivetrain.

In Thursday’s Speed and Style event, where riders are awarded time bonuses based on the level of difficulty and execution of tricks thrown into their race runs, it came down to an all SRAM/RockShox final round. Representing Sweden was Martin Söderström, and representing France was Tomas Lemoine. In Austria, the French rider came out on top.

Lemoine’s event-winning Canyon was equipped with a RockShox Pike DJ fork, a SRAM X01 DH crankset and Guide brakes.

Söderström’s Specialized’s setup was a RockShox Pike DJ fork, a SRAM X01 DH crankset and Guide brakes.
