The Drive for Five

Marcelo Gutierrez makes history again at Crankworx Whistler 2017 with an incredible fifth consecutive Garbanzo Downhill win.

When it comes to Crankworx Whistler’s Garbanzo Downhill, Giant Factory Racing’s Marcelo Gutierrez is an absolute, singularly focused machine. As he did last year, Marcelo rode his Giant Glory eqqupped with SRAM X01 DH drivetrainCODE brakes, a RockShox BoXXer, Vivid R2C and Reverb to victory over the rest of the elite mens field.

Crown for a New King?

With the final weekend of Crankworx Whistler approaching, Adrien Loron looks like the sure bet for the 2017 King of Crankworx title.

Adrien Loron delivered a foreshadowing of things to come by defeating 2016 King of Crankworx Tomas Slavik in the final of Crankworx Whistler’s opening event, Dual Speed and Style. The French rider followed up quickly with surprising win in the Air DH. Loron’s 4th place finish in the Ultimate Pump Track Challenge also sealed his Crankworx Pump Track World Tour title.

Both of Adrian's bikes were equipped with SRAM X01 DH drivetrainsSRAM Guide brakes with RockShox PIKE RCT3 front suspension and a Super Deluxe rear shock on his Air DH race machine.

Whip it Good

Former X-Games Gold medalist Allan Cooke takes the win at the Official Whip Off World Championship.

Though his day job is managing athletes for Santa Cruz Bicycles, his job at the Whistler Bike Park’s Crabapple Hits is to show everyone what a devastatingly sick whip looks like.

Allan rode a Santa Cruz V-10 equipped with a SRAM X01 DH drivetrain, SRAM CODE brakes, RockShox BoXXer World Cup and a Vivid R2C rear shock.

Caroline Defeats The Queen

Caroline Buchanan, the Ultimate Pump Track Challenge presented by RockShox winner from Rotorua and Innsbruck, takes another win in Whistler.

Equipped with SRAM X01 Cranks, SRAM Guide brakes and a RockShox PIKE RCT3 front fork, Buchanan was on point from her first heat, and carried that momentum through to smash Queen Kintner in the finals. The win earned Buchanan the Crankworx Pump Track World Tour title.

The action continues from Whistler this evening with the Giant Dual Slalom and carrys through the weekend with the Canadian Open Downhill and infamous RedBull Joyride competition airing live on Crankworx.com
