This guide will walk you through a few of the most common Troubleshooting questions to help you get back to riding.

SYMPTOM:

Flight Attendant was working correctly, but now it’s not. Or I just set up Flight Attendant, and it won’t enter Auto Mode.

A. MANY SYMPTOMS CAN BE SOLVED BY CHARGING OR REPLACING THE BATTERY

Make sure all AXS batteries are charged, either using the AXS app or pressing the AXS button on each component.

CHECK THE STATUS OF THE POWER METER OR PEDAL SENSOR BATTERY

For spindle-based power meters or Pedal Sensors, press the AXS button to check battery status.

For spider-based power meters, rotate the crankarm backwards ½ turn to wake up the power meter and check the AXS LED on the spider, or check the battery status in the AXS app.

B. RESET THE SYSTEM


Remove the fork’s Control Module battery, wait 10 seconds, and then re-install the battery.

C. CHECK FOR FIRMWARE UPDATES IN THE SRAM AXS APP


Start with downloading the latest version of the AXS app before installing the product firmware updates.

D. IF THE SYSTEM DOES NOT RESUME EXPECTED OPERATION:

The next step is making sure the whole system is paired correctly with all AXS components. All AXS components on a bike—including the power meter—must be paired into a single system, with the Flight Attendant Control Module as the primary component that begins and ends the pairing process.

Let’s get started.

PAIRING

If you're using an AXS drivetrain or Reverb AXS, you’ll want to connect all AXS components—Flight Attendant fork, rear shock, power meter, derailleur, controllers, and seatpost—into a single system. Always start the pairing session with the fork’s Control Module, as it designates the fork as the system’s primary component. All other AXS components can be paired in any order, but note that when pairing Pod Controllers, the right controller should be paired first, and the left controller second. It’s important to include all AXS components—any missing AXS components can prevent the system from working correctly.

Which Power Meter do you have?

Spindle-based power meters are integrated into the DUB spindle of your crank arm. For best results, be sure to Zero your power meter before each ride. Learn more about Zeroing.

Remove the sled from the crankset to reveal the AXS button on the sled.


Tech Tip: Leave the sled out until you’ve confirmed that all components paired successfully.

When sliding the sled back in, align the slot in the sled with the slot in the spindle, then rotate the cap until the two circles are aligned and click into place.

Spider-based power meters attach to AXS cranks using a simple 8-bolt interface. Remove the red battery insulator from under the coin cell battery to activate the power meter. Once activated, you’ll add the power meter to your bike profile in the app as a “Pedal Sensor” after all other components are paired and added in the app.

E-MTBs use their own pedaling sensor and are added to the system in the AXS app as a “Pedal Sensor” after all other components are paired and added in the app.

CHECKPOINT

Once correctly paired, Flight Attendant will enter Auto Mode, indicated by the Open LED pulsing green slowly. If the Open LED is pulsing red slowly, continue to Calibration. If the Open LED is not pulsing red or green slowly or the system has not resumed expected operation, contact Rider Support.

CALIBRATION

Calibration helps Flight Attendant determine where the components exist in space by performing both vertical and tilt calibrations.

FIRST UP, VERTICAL CALIBRATION


With the bike on a level surface, lower the seatpost and sit on your bike so the suspension is in the sag position, then follow the clip:

THEN TILT CALIBRATION


The Open LED will pulse white slowly, indicating that the system is ready for Tilt Calibration. Unweight the bike and stand over the top tube, then follow the clip:

Tech Tip: Red LEDs indicate the bike is tilted too far in the direction of the red LEDs.

CHECKPOINT

Once correctly calibrated, Flight Attendant will enter Auto Mode, indicated by the Open LED pulsing green slowly. Not in Auto Mode? Contact Rider Support.

SYMPTOM:

Blue / Yellow x 3 / Blue: Damper Error Mode—Fork. This color combination indicates that Flight Attendant’s Control Module hardware needs to be reset.

  1. Remove the AXS battery from the Control Module for 10 seconds, then reinstall the AXS battery to see if the system re-homes itself. 
  2. Remove and reinstall the Control Module as instructed for your fork. – [Pike / Lyrik / ZEB] [SID / SID SL] 
  3. If the Damper Error Mode persists, contact Rider Support.

SYMPTOM:

Cyan / Yellow x 3 / Cyan: Damper Error Mode—Rear Shock. This color combination indicates that Flight Attendant’s Rear Shock Module hardware needs to be reset.

  1. Remove the AXS battery from the Rear Shock Module for 10 seconds, then reinstall the AXS battery to see if the system re-homes itself.

  2. If the Damper Error Mode persists, contact Rider Support.
